It's important to Greg Coon to do his part to
give back to the community and those in need. So every November
from 1995 - 2001, Greg, and his wife Julie, fly to Orlando
on an American Airlines jet with the Kidd's Kids and their
families to document the trip where dreams do come true. Free
copies of the program are now available at all Blockbuster
Video stores in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Area listeners
who donated to this charity can now see joy their generosity
gave to the kids and their families.
Every year nationally syndicated Kidd Kraddick
of the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning Show based out
of Dallas requests donations from listeners and organizes
the trip to allow the children and their families who would
never be able to afford to do so, take the trip of a lifetime
The touching and inspiring 25-minute video shows
the kids on the flight to Orlando, the first time on an airplane
for many of these children. The video then follows Kidd and
the kids as they experience the Magic Kingdom for the first
time. The smiles on these kids' faces tell the whole story.
Using video shot during the KISS-FM radio broadcast
at MGM Studios and parent interviews as the framework, the
program highlights their adventure and illustrates the "sights
and sounds" of the trip. The video allows viewers to
share the joy these kids experience, and to see, first-hand,
what this trip means to the kids and their parents. Copies
of the video will also be available for purchase with all
proceeds going to Kidd's Kids.
Greg Coon, owner of Eyecon Video Productions,
donates his time and equipment to produce this video. A previous
Kidd's Kids video won two national awards - the Videographer
Award and an Aegis Award.
The Kidd's Kids video was shot entirely by Greg
Coon with Sony's DSR PDF150 digital video camera. Greg and
David Henson, Eyecon Video's editor, then edited the project
at their studio using their digital, on-line, non-linear edit
system - the Media 100.
