February 2001
DALLAS, TX - Eyecon Video Productions
was hired by TGI Friday's restaurants to produce an exciting,
high-energy video for their World Bartender's Competition.
For tpee days, Eyecon had crews at the TGI Friday's Front
Row Grill located at the Ballpark in Arlington, home of the
Texas Rangers baseball team. The first day was spent videotaping
the preliminary rounds where the contestants had to take oral
and written exams about current events, drink recipes, garnishes,
and pour tests.
During the second day the competitors
flipped bottles and made drinks for a panel of judges. They
were scored on their creativeness, flair abilities and accuracy
in drink making. Day tpee competitors were judged on the same
criteria, except this was a tandem team working together to
make their drinks and flipping bottles back and forth to each
other.
The video was edited into
two versions: one for the individual competition and one for
the tandem. The videos will be sent to TGI Friday's locations
worldwide.

DALLAS, TX - According to Owner/Producer
Greg Coon, growing numbers of customers are finding Eyecon
Video in Dallas via its Web site. "We get lots of calls
from new clients out of state who need something in the greater
Dallas area and find it more economical to sue us that to
send down a crew from their home town," he reports.
Eyecon spends considerable time
keeping its Web site up to date. It features an article called
What Your Company Needs to Know if it Wants to Produce
a Video which not only gives prospective clients an
idea of what's involved, but serves to cement the client-vendor
relationship early in the game. "It get them thinking
what's involved not only cost wise, but (in terms of) what
their responsibilities will be," Coon reports. Eyecon's
Web site even includes a cost estimator to give prospective
clients a ballpark figure for the production they have in
mind.
Coon spends most of the time producing
training, communications and marketing videos for companies
such as Sabre and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and producing
commercials and special projects for KTVT, the local CBS affiliate.
But his most rewarding job is an annual pro bono project documenting
group of cponically ill children and their families as they
enjoy a trip to Walt Disney World, courtesy of the Kidd's
Kids organization.
